An Ex-Jehovah Witness who has a relationship

with the Real Christ Jesus!

I am a former Jehovah's Witness of 10 years who became a Christian. In 1991, I was ready to leave. When people ask me what made me leave, I tell them it was a combination of factors.

First, I began to doubt the Watchtower's explanation of doctrinal points. I still remained, because I was taught, it would be corrected in Jehovah's due time.

Second, as an active, good-standing Jehovah's Witness, I saw many of the Jehovah's Witnesses' personal lives. I was shocked because they lead one life in the Kingdom Hall and another outside the walls of the Jehovah's Witnesses.

I knew about many cases of child abuse, spousal abuse, neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, smoking, adultery, fornication and homosexuality, to mention a few.

I felt the Holy Spirit confronting me. How can I tell the person whom I am preaching to, uninvited on their doorstep, that becoming a Jehovah's Witness would make you right with God? Jehovah's Witnesses' personal lives are no different than the personal lives of those in the churches of Christendom. The Watchtower publications were condemning the Christendom members for their unclean personal lives, but many inside the Organization were just as bad or even worse.

Third, I was taught Jehovah's Organization was a clean one, without reproach. In 1991, after my girlfriend's child/spousal abuse case, I began to question and doubt. How could Jehovah approve of this Organization for His use?

A brother sexually assaulted me. I was told to keep it quiet for the sake of Jehovah and His Organization. This advice came from the world headquarters, not just a local body of Elders.

I was told not to even talk about this incident to my therapist. Since the Brother who attacked was in another Congregation, I inquired about what happened to him from the judicial committee hearing. I was told the outcome of the case was none of my business.

So I left, by writing a letter of disassociation to the congregation. I did not make this decision lightly. It tore me apart. I compare my experience to ending a long, very bad, marriage.

I had never heard of any Jehovah's Witness who just disassociated themselves. Today, you have the free communication and anonymity of the Internet, unlike years ago, so take advantage of it.

Jehovah's Witnesses are taught if you leave Jehovah's Organization there is no hope for you. (1 Cor. 15:31,32) . You are taught, Jehovah does not hear your prayers.(Isa. 1:15) Another fact you are taught is that you will die at Armageddon and never be resurrected to life, if you don't return to Jehovah (which means getting reinstated as a Jehovah's Witness in good standing.)

So, rejected and depressed, I began to lead a life which brought no glory to God. My life Was full of immorality. Why? Because I had no hope of ever having a relationship with God. This is not an excuse for my actions, but my thinking was that God did not love me anymore. Jehovah did not care for me, because if you reject the Watchtower, you are rejecting Jehovah Himself. So why should He care about me?

One day, I was walking by a Christian Book Store in a flea market. I saw the videos, Witness at your Door; and Witness goes by MacGregor Ministries. Lorri MacGregor, who founded the ministry, was a Jehovah's Witness for 15 years.

I was hesitant, and even felt guilty for desiring to watch them. We were taught that anyone who has left Jehovah's Witness and speaks against them are considered Apostates. This point is deeply ingrained in the Jehovah's Witness.

I broke down, finally renting them. Lorri's videos were able to reach out to me, when other Christians could not. The videos are well documented from Watchtower publications. Then she presents doctrines of the Watchtower vs. teachings found in Scriptures.

What a relief! Just knowing someone else understood what I went though. She not only dealt with facts, but the dynamics of being a Jehovah's Witness.

Within 24 hours after watching the videos, I was able to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. This was December 12, 1993, two years to the exact date my name was read off the platform, for my disassociation letter.

In the same prayer, I vowed to help with the ministry to aid Jesus in outreach to Jehovah's Witnesses.

Today I am remarried and live a life, which glorifies Jesus to the fullest! Guilt, fear and shame from the Jehovah of the Watchtower was exchanged for the unconditional love, mercy and grace of the Jesus Christ of the Scripture. I extend my hand and heart to any former, present, studying, or family member of Jehovah's Witnesses today.

The disfellowshipped are welcomed, no matter what you have done. You are welcomed with- out fear of reproach. Jesus loves you and wants to restore you to Himself.

My outreach is to Jehovah's Witnesses and others. My goal online is to show Jehovah's Witnesses the true Love of the Jehovah of the Bible, not the one created by the Watchtower.

I dare you to compare the Jehovah and Jesus of the Watchtower vs. the love of the Real Jehovah and Real Jesus. Jehovah of the Watchtower creates fear, and if you don't submit to the Organization you will die. Jehovah of the Bible extends us mercy and grace. Jehovah's saving grace is though the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:1-4) He extends us life.

Salvation is a free gift. We can't save ourselves no matter how many hours spent in field service, how many meetings we attend,or how many conventions or quick build Kingdom halls we do. When Jesus was asked directly by his disciples what the work and will of God was, just look up his reply.(John 6:28, 29 [work of God] and John 6:39,40 [will of God])

Now, compare to the real Gospel spoken of in 1 Cor. 15:1-4. It is that simple. You don't even have to be perfect, because God does not require it for accepting his Son, Jesus.

Jesus knows we are sinners. Jesus accepts the fact we are not perfect when we accept him into our lives.(Luke 5:31,32) He heals us one day at a time.

Hope after life as a Jehovah's Witness? Yes, my friend, there is life after being a Jehovah's Witness. In fact, you can experience the freedom, by accepting the real Jesus into your life. You don't have to be perfect, study two Watchtower publications, work out in the field service first, or answer 80 questions before an Elder. Can you find this as a requirement from the Bible to be baptized?

In fact, you can accept the real Jesus right now as you read this page. Just go to Jesus in prayer, now, to ask him into you life. If you just asked Jesus to come into your life, did it seem too simple? (Matt 7:7, Rev 3:20) . All you have to do is invite Him in. Now you can pass the only test in the Bible for being a Christian. (2 Cor. 13:5,6)

Would you like to meet other former Jehovah's Witness who now have the same freedom in Christian Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses club link below? If you choose not to join, you are welcome to read the post daily.
